Thomas C. Waters

thomascwaters.com is my new blog and a space for personal expression.  I have been blogging for a while on my .mac account, and love the format and ability of using Apple’s iWeb application, but WordPress seems to be the way all the cool kinds are doing blogs, so it is time for me to get with the program.

The thing that prompted me to make the jump, was my podcast, A Queer Look at the Bible.  I began this back in 2006, but for a variety of reasons stopped producing episodes.  I wasn’t sure if any had found it- was anyone listening?  So I figured if I was blogging out in the WordPress arena, I might get indexed more, and found by more people.  So I bought the domain, qlatb.com and have been working to get that site up and running.

The first step is complete- get the basic site launched, and a few blog posts there.  Next, I want to keep blogging and build up the amount of content offered while I get to know WordPress more and more.  Like I’m not sure yet, what plugins I want or need.  How do I allow the blog to build community?

So, QLATB is off to a good start: http://qlatb.com.

What about this blog?  I wanted a space for everything else. Everything for personal perspectives and stuff about social media.  So, I started thomascwaters.com.

Now, a few weeks into using WordPress, I have to say, I miss working on .Mac with iWeb.  And I’m conflicted- do I scrap iWeb/.Mac and focus entirely here on WordPress?  At least in the short term, I’ll keep working in the .Mac arena as well as here. http://web.mac.com/thomaswaters.

I also wtire blog entries for work at http://rxweb.pharmacy.pitt.edu/groups/informatics/blog/.

If you appreciate reading my posts, would you like to thank me with a coffee?
