Vacation Day 1
Headed  for a week of  vacation in the sun. Brad and I left of the airport yesterday at about 5:30 AM.  He thought we had taken the earlier flight which left the airport at 6, but our tickets were for the 8AM flight. I don’t generally fly Continental- I think the only other flights have been last year’s trip to Mexico and our first trip here, years ago. Moving through the airport was easy.  I don’t get it why with some carriers, you have to take the luggage to security but others do it for you. No matter, we were headed to the gate quickly and easily.
The only part of security which irritates me is having to take off my shoes and how are you supposed to do everything with 2 hands and a crowd of urgent people behind you? Â You are holding your ID, and that flimsy piece of paper called a boarding pass. But I need both hands to open my backpack, take out the laptop, put it all in separate bins, AND get your shoes off and in a bin.
We watched a few episodes of Ugly Betty season 2 on the plane trip from Pittsburgh to Houston. Â Ugly Betty is a great series. Â Brad and I watched season 1 together as part of our “date nights” while we were separated. No real reason I missed season 2 when it was on, but I did. Â The show is so funny.
In Houston airport, realized I had left my jacket on the 1st plane. Â Brad ran back to the gate and retrieved it. Â He is my hero! Houson airport, besides being named after a horrific president, has no free wireless. Â Twittered on my phone.
Trip to PVR was uneventful. Â Battery on my laptop was shot and didn’t realize there was power on the plane. Â so we watched Primeval on Brad’s iPod. Â Not that is a pretty awesome show too- though nothing like Ugly Betty! The airport in PVR was busy and the lines long, though I think we moved through it pretty quick. Â We had planned just to take a cab to a resort, but at the last moment decided to do the Atlantis shuttle. Was easy, b ut sat for a while waiting for the bus to fill and depart.
We have a great room, and my favorite thing about the room is the shower. Â It is huge- like perfect for a party of 6! LOL! Also each room has a jacuzzi bath in it that looks awesome. Â Brad and I will try it later in the week.
If you appreciate reading my posts, would you like to thank me with a coffee?
