Is homosexual Hollywood steering girls away from real men? | No Apologies
This has to be near the top of my list of “strangest blog posts I have ever read.” I would say that it is most likely a parody, but it isn’t April 1st, and looking at other posts on the site, it seems to fit in well read as intentional. The clip here is actually part of a larger opinion article from the the UK Telegraph by Rachel Marsden. Her first book is due out this year, which could explain the opinion. It is entertaining writing. Let’s get our name out there, and people reading stuff and then they will want to buy the book.
The author takes a few swipes at “gay Hollywood,” but my favorite section is this:
Habits and tastes develop in childhood. Your mother knew this, which is why she force-fed you broccoli and Brussels sprouts. The girls who lust after feminised screen idols today will eventually morph into middle age cougars with multiple divorces who can’t figure out why their men seem to enjoy spending their Saturday afternoons getting pedicures.
As I read the author’s interest in “real men…who can carry them to safety” my first thought went to Mel Gibson. Left me wondering which is worse: a middle-aged cougar  or a woman with a truck load of kids abandoned by a real man who is off chasing some young thing?
We are in the middle of a major culture change, although it isn’t new. It has been going on since… well, at least the 60′s, and the changing face of a “leading man (or young man) is all a part of it. Almost flattering to have that attributed to gay men. Although I think most gay men want a real man who can carry them to safety too.
