I believe each religious institution has a right to hold whatever beliefs it holds. That in and of itself, isn't an issue for me. Civil Marriage is a legal/civil arrangement embodied by a state-granted marriage license and officiated by a member of the clergy (or other person) designated by the state. The examples of this post, as well as others demonstrate that the forces at work to destroy the institution of marriage are not gay marriage, but rather the very politicians who are busy working against gay marriage are damaging to marriage themselves.<br><br>I know far too little about Islam, so thanks for the information.
