I hope we never stop celebrating youth, vitality, the male body, and being gay! I hope however, we couple this celebration of youth and beauty with a reminder to care about and remain connected to all of our community including those entering their senior years.

to ask if Achilles and Patroclus were gay is to ask the wrong question. from the earliest of times, brave men who have loved other men have been accepted and heralded as heroes, champions and leaders, why not now? Do not miss this riveting piece of theater at Pittsburgh Public Theater running until April 6th.
Commentary regarding a post by Pascoe and Bridges regarding Macklemore, The Warwick Rowing Team, masculinity and the demonstration of sexuality as a way to confront homophobia. I both agree with some of their points, and offer critique of other ideas they offer. Macklemore, Bronies, Warwick Rowers, and Chris Kluwe among others, in my opinion are negotiating new boundaries defining masculinity and sexual expression, and with any negotiation, there is an element of experimentation and exploration involved.
The cycles and dynamics which are both inevitable and avoidable are modulated and remedied by learning to listen to one another with an inquisitive desire to understand the other’s history.
I received info about this exhibition on the “queer-events” list, and it got me thinking about the question: is war a queer issue? I hope you think about the question and post your ideas as comments to the blog post.

Here is some video I captured at Art All Night in Lawrenceville last evening. The event is always really great, and I found this year to be no exception. I loved the location this year. Really amazing old factory. The video isn’t all that good- shot on my iPhone 4, but I think it does capture the power of both the drims and the dancers.
