Every single group or position against LGBT rights bases that opposition one one factor: being gay is a choice. Ex-gay groups like Exodus and NARTH, the group Rekers has just resigned from, can only exist because far right religious groups pump money into them based upon this false claim that Gay is a choice.
Dana Elmendorf is the President of the Steel City Stonewall Democrats (SCSD), and she shared with me a letter to the editor she wrote for the City Paper. SCSD is a gay-rights group in Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh PA.
Dan Onorato has the best chance to beat Tom Corbett in the Fall, and that is essential for any progressive issue important to Pennsylvanian. Jack Wagner is the least gay friendly of the four candidates and that makes him the worst choice of the democratic candidates.
But what is Anthony Hardy Williams, and does he care about Western PA? I know he has been here, at least long enough to look around for jobs, but is he interested in being the Governor of Pennsylvania or the Governor of Philadelphia.

If Hoeffel has any real plans for how his lofty (albiet important) liberal social agenda will be made into concrete change if he were governor, he isn’t sharing them. Onorato on the other hand is willing to use government and the governing process to devise and implement plans that will best meet the needs of our state. Real plans, real leadership, for real growth for Pennsylvania.
