I’ve been quite captured by the Occupy movement, and have written multiple times that I believe it marks the most important grass roots political movement since the anti-war efforts of the ’60’s. But one thing has been nagging at me. If we are the 99%, how is it that we let our government get so broke that it is selling us down the river?

For all Flaherty’s attempts to paint himself as a good guy, the reality is he is just a calculating and scheming politician whose only real motivation is to get ahead. Is it possible that he has broken the law toward that end?
If we can get back to a simple majority ruling, we can actually see government begin to work again!
We do not live in a state, that by default seeks out and promotes the most progressive ideas. If lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer persons want to be treated as first class citizens, we have to get out there and make it happen.
