Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta (left) shares a historic kiss with her girlfriend of two years, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, at Fort Story in Virginia Beach on Wednesday. It’s a tradition at Navy homecomings that one sailor is chosen by raffle to be first off the ship to kiss a loved one. Update: PA HB 934 passes out of committee.

PA HB 934 is a discriminatory, unnecessary, and costly effort that will limit access to vote by many Pennsylvanians, and now it has passed out of the Senate Government committee. Will Pennsylvania make it harder to vote?

Today, the PA Senate is due to take up HB 934, a Voter ID bill which many claim is a big government program looking to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Those on the left accuse Republican led efforts in a number of states of being a push to repress the vote in next year’s Presidential election.

QUILTBAG group meets tomorrow. There is an empty chair with your name on it!

Monday evening is the next QUILTBAG meeting, and I’m excited to see this group continue to form, coalesce, and build a new way for queer individuals and organizations to work together and support each other. Few efforts have begun in here in Pittsburgh that are as important as this one, when it comes to shaping the next generation of cooperation and activism surrounding LGBTQ/QUILTBAG as a community.
