Ebba Schmid, local photographer and creator of The Other Men Project: Portraits of Transmen, has put together a show called “Locally Queer”. It will run from March 10-24, with an opening reception March 10 from 6-9 pm. Each and every one of us can do things and we have no idea what chain of events can be placed into motion because of it. Btrett’s efforts weren’t some wel thought out, strategic plan for gay acceptance. It was far simpler; tryuly humble and more personal. Yet that action helped set the stage for other actions by other people, that led to more actions by more people. Get the picture?
Occupy model was working, and working well enough that the Status Quo was so utterly scared of it that it had to get it all shut down. The Status Quo wants us to all believe that the current system is all we have, and so we have to make thiings work within it, making only little tiny changes as we go. The Occupy movement demonstrated this to be a fallacy, and invited everyone to not only envision different models, but to experiment bringing them into being.
Romney said, “I’m not for the bill,” and proceeded to argue that presidential candidates shouldn’t get into “questions about contraception.” For all of the shameless pandering Romney has done to the far-right Republican base, this unambiguous answer reflected remarkable bravery on the candidate’s part. Republicans have been hyperventilating for weeks about the issue, and here was the likely GOP presidential nominee announcing, on camera, his opposition to his party’s legislative remedy.
