I just read on Facebook, that Joe Christopher passed away suddenly after having flu-like symptoms yesterday. I didn’t know Joe well and I’m not even sure he would know me if he saw me- we were not friends that way. But I had so much respect for his work creating Cue Magazine and the role he played in shaping a part of Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ community.

Many young folks Joe’s age simply get caught up in the club scene, yet Joe was truly a mover and a shaker. He was smart, pleasant, handsome, successful and a real inspiration. as a Facebook friend, I sometines noticed whatever was going on for him, and often something he would post would touch me deeply. In that indirect way, he always reminded me to continue to try and do my part to make the world a better place. I valued his openness and honesty, and I will surely miss him.
