Tuesday is election day, and since a majority of my readers are in Western PA or PA, I’m including endorsements published by folks I have much faith in.

I can’t stress enough how important this and every election is.  This election because local legislators are being elected, and all politics is local. It is a fallacy to think we only need to care about the tight drama filled campaigns for folks at the top. Politicians at every level are responsible for creating change and growth for everyone. If we don’t seek to elect progressives at the local levels we have less ability to affect elections at higher levels. So this primary matters ad get out and vote!

I want to encourage my readers in Pittsburgh to vote for Bill Peduto for Mayor of Pittsburgh. Bill has long been a friend of the LGBTQ community, and a hard working city officials for progressive issues. He is personable, willing to listen and discuss, and passionate about making Pittsburgh a great city. And despite how he is characterized in those swift boat-like ads, he is a consensus builder and coalition builder. The other candidate who has a chance of wu=inning is Jack Wagner, who would  be, in my opinion, bad for Pittsburgh’s future. Electing Jack would be to enable the same old democrat machine that supported Mayor Luke to continue to hold the city back. A vote for Jack Wagner is a step into the past, ad a vote for Bill Peduto is a step forward. Just my opinion.
