Within weeks, it is expected that the US Supreme Court will hand down landmark decisions regarding two cases heard earlier this year involving same-sex marriage. Expectations are high for those pro and con as these decisions will mark the beginning of the next phase in the LGBT community’s journey to Full Equality. There is plenty of misinformation and hype coming mainly from the opponents to marriage equality, but there is also a lack of thorough dialogue around what these two decisions are likely to really mean for the gay and lesbian couples who seek the legal protections of marriage.
Join me for this live internet radio broadcast where I will be talking to my guest, Professor Tony Infanti from the University of Pittsburgh Law School about the upcoming cases and how various outcomes will impact real same-sex couples. We will talk briefly about what each case is about, what was learned if anything when the cases were heard by the Court earlier this year, and what some possible outcomes may be.
My goal in asking Tony questions will be to cut through some of the hype and get at what these decisions mean in practical terms, as well as get an idea as to what may be next based on how these two decisions come down.
The program is a live, call-in type program, and you are welcome to call in with your questions and comments.
