I was very wrong about one thing the other day when I wrote about Madeleine Hershey, who recently passed away. My point was to highlight how Mad was more interested in going important and meaningful work than in creating a name for herself, and I stand by that. But here’s the thing– many people knew of her great work and recognized her and the projects she was a part of. Maybe she would be listed as an important advocate/activist by more people than I had considered. So much so that Pittsburgh City Council is planning to recognize the Initiative for Transgender Leadership (ITL) and Madeleine Hershey net week. This is such amazing news.
