The linked story is by John L. Micek, who I’ve lined to before, and who talks about the polling for both this race and hypothetical match ups in the Fall. It is a god read, and also contains a link to a bigger story about the “undecideds” that is also a good read.
In the Democratic contest for governor, Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato expands his lead a touch, going to 39 percent in the daily track, up from 37 percent yesterday.
Sen. Anthony Williams stays in second place with 14 percent, while Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel moves up to third place, taking 11 percent of the vote.
Auditor General Jack Wagner slips to fourth, with 9 percent. And, for the first time, the undecideds finish under a third, with 27 percent of 405 likely primary voters saying they can’t choose between the candidates.
I think however, that a question is needed: what is it that you need if you are one of those undecided or folks who aren’t yet sure who you will vote for? What do you need to make sure you cast a ballot as opposed to being one of the many who don’t turn out at the polls?
- Do you know where each candidate stands on the issues? Both the issues important to you as well as other issues?
- Do you know what specifically you are basing your vote upon?
- Have you thought about what your vote in the primary election will mean for the general election in the Fall?
- What resources are lacking to help you sort out these questions?
