John Micek writes about  the PA Family Institute’s voter guide, and of course Tom Corbett has much to say that we all need to be listening to. Here in Pittsburgh, among the gay and lesbian bloggers, the primary point of conversation has been that Joe Hoeffel supports same-sex marriage, but the reality is, we need to be putting a stronger spotlight on the real issues facing LGBT Pennsylvanians if a Republican is elected. Namely, we won’t see PA HB 300 passed, and the pattern of discrimination that happens across the state will simply continue.

Yes! We need a thorough debate on progressive issues, and yes! we need to help nudge a few of the DEmocratic candidates towards the left, but no matter what, we must elect a Democrat who can beat Tom Corbett in the Fall, or we might as well kiss any furthering of rights for the GLBT community good-bye.

The polls being released suggest that Dan Onorato has the best chance to beat Tom Corbett in the fall, as well as being at the head of the Democratic pack for the primary. Dan supports HB 300 which will be good for the whole of Pennsylvania. Additionally he is the type of Democrat that many voters across the whole state can support, because he isn’t as far left progressive as Joe Hoeffel.

Let’s stop talking about same-sex marriage which has no chance of passing in the Senate or the House, no matter who is governor, and make sure we elect a Democrat who can beat Tom Corbett. Or…

maybe we should talk about same-sex marriage. In the PA Family Institute’s voter guide, Wagner points out that he voted for the PA DOMA which currently keeps gays and lesbians from marrying.
