If you need any indication as to what type of governor Tom Corbett will be, just look at how he is currently acting as Attorney General, when it comes to the civil rights of individuals:

Tom Corbett, current Attorney General of the state of Pennsylvania and Gubernatorial Candidate, has subpoenaed Twitter to appear as a Grand Jury witness to “testify and give evidence regarding alleged violations of the laws of Pennsylvania”.

It seems as if the real issue here is that Corbett got pissed off, and so he uses his office as a tool to try and intimidate others. Twitter wasn’t amused and refused to comply. But, I can’t find any indication of what PA laws were supposedly violated.

This isn’t Corbett’s first big use of his office. He is signed on to the suit against Health Care reform, a case that no legal scholar can be found who believes the case has any merit at all. Both of these cases are highly politicized, the exact opposite of what should be coming out of the AG’s office.

Update: Since I first started this post, the word is that the subpoena has been dropped.
