This may seem utterly unconnected, but I don’t really believe that it is. The voice is Mel Gibson, and everything about the dialogue he is having should stand as a testament as to why the far right (which is so proud of his strong moral/ religious beliefs) is opposed to allowing gay and lesbians all the same rights as everyone else.
They block same-sex marriage claiming that it is a definition of marriage. They block non-discrimination protections claiming that they are stepping stones to marriage. But the reality is, they block everything LGBT related, because to support equality, would end the ability for strong men to abuse others, while feeling it is their entitlement.
These straights are the breeders. Their only real motivation is having more (straight) babies.
There are other straights who block equality, more out of fear or hesitation. The Breeders make these awful scare campaigns, and they just aren’t sure if they are true or not. So it is just easier to dig in their heels and do nothing, or be a slow resistance so as to slow the possibility of a big confrontation.
There are others, who hold real religious views, and who are entitled to their own views. But they cross the line by trying to force their views onto everyone else.
Why some straights don’t want Gays and Lesbians to marry. It would destroy the male dominated patriarchy, in ways that have never been seen before. The time for that change is now.
