Saw this on Facebook today:

Senator Lindsey Graham, R-SC, voted against repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, John McCain’s BFF, about to be outed as a homosexual? With proof? Bring on the bigot’s hypocrisy!

Now, I don’t know if Graham is gay or not, but if he is, then let’s turn every light on him and end the darkness of his closet! The anti-gay groups stop at nothing to harm gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people. It is time to turn up the heat and demand honesty and integrity, and point out hypocrisy where ever we find it.

The above sentiment was specifically about Graham’s vote against DADTY repeal, but I think the issue is bigger than a single vote. Frankly, I think, gay or not gay he can be against repeal. In other words, just being gay doesn’t mean he has to support repeal. But that said, if his closet has been protecting him, it is time for that to end. He needs to be able to stand up and say as a gay man, why he votes as he does.

One of the most important points made to justify the repeal of DADT was that it conflicted with the Armed Force’s emphasis on integrity and honesty. We need to demadn that same level of honesty and integrity out of all of our elected officials too.
