Could Sarah Palin be stupider?

Yes, and she is stupider: She also claims Paul Revere’s “midnight ride” on the eve of the Revolutionary War has something to do with the U.S. Constitution’s second amendment — the Bill of Rights wouldn’t exist until 1789 and wouldn’t be ratified until the end of 1791 — another 16 years after Revere’s famous ride. Ugh, every time Sarah Palin speaks in public, the nation’s collective IQ drops another point.

Many folks have written about this to the point that it is almost a joke. But Andrew Sullivan warns that Palin could win.

While LGBT activists are busy trying to use reason, common sense, and an idea of fairness with the hopes of gaining support, at least some on the conservative side are living in a make-believe world where history can be rewritten at the drop of a hat or to fit any politician’s needs.  To suggest that Palin could win, suggests that it isn’t just the politicians, but a large enough part of the electorate too, living in this fantasy land.

We can let the lunacy drive us to laughter such that we fail to se the danger, and end up after the election wondering wheat happened.

If that isn’t scary enough however, consider that the very basis we use to demand equality could be history, the likes of Sarah Palin or others may try and rewrite. Could we wake up one day to find that everything we thought we knew about democracy is no more?
