Saw a link to this where the story was about Don Lemon asking Santorum if he had gay friends. But I don’t think that is the real story here.
1) Santorum says that traditional marriage must remain a privileged thing. In other words, straights must have special rights. If Marriage is so crucial for society, you would think it would be fine without special rights.
2) Santorum says he doesn’t hate gay people, that he merely has a different opinion about the definition of marriage. OK, Rick, how about this: become a real leader and come out publicaly for Federal recognition of domestic partnerships. You can keep the word marriage, but start allowing same-sex couples to protect themselves and their relationships!
3) Rick Santorum- come out for an inclusive ENDA that protects SINGLE gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans persons in employment, housing and public accommodations. How about it Mr “I have gay friends” “man-on-dog sex” Santorum.
