Gov. Tom Wolf Endorses Rep Brian Sims

Calls Sims “A Consummate Advocate for All Pennsylvanians”

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf today endorsed Democratic state Representative Brian Sims for re-election in the 182nd legislative district.

“In Brian Sims, the people of the 182nd district have a public servant dedicated to moving Pennsylvania forward. And that is why I am endorsing him for state representative” Wolf said.

The Governor also cited Rep Sims progressive credentials, and his history of fighting for education in Philadelphia and across the commonwealth.

“Brian Sims is a true progressive champion. He has stood with me in the fight to ensure that our children receive an education that prepares them for a 21st century economy and make gas drillers pay their fair share. Brian never shies away from a challenge and is a consummate advocate for equality for all Pennsylvanians.”

“I am proud to stand with Governor Tom Wolf in Harrisburg, and am grateful for his endorsement. Governor Wolf has been a fierce advocate for education and women’s equality in his tenure, and I am grateful for his leadership during this difficult time in the history of our Commonwealth. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to work with him and his administration to ensure that our schools are fully funded and women’s health choices are fully protected.”

This endorsement comes on the heels of that of Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney last week.

Representative Brian Sims was elected to the 182nd district in 2012 after years of service as a civil rights attorney. The first openly LGBT person elected to the Pennsylvania Legislature, Brian has been a tireless advocate for equality, and has been a lifetime supporter of women’s health, education, and a fairer system for all Pennsylvanians.
