In the past week, I have seen more beautiful, interesting, thought provoking, evocative, memorable films than perhaps the entire last year of big budget mediocrity. Don’t miss this chance to see one of the three remaining films.

The Initiative for Transgender Leadership in Pittsburgh has kicked off an innovative and exciting program which pairs trans youth with mentors and they are still accepting youth registrants for the program. Here was this art installation right in the middle of where people work, eat and congregate. In other words, Delta brought Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ community out in a new way for Pittsburgh.

Because the more we care to understand about people different than us in a sex or gender way, the better off we will be and the greater our opportunity to really see and hear each other. And a far too large part of the obstacles standing in the way of kurt community stems from an inability or an unwillingness to see and hear each other.
Across the rainbow coalition of Pittsburgh’s LGBTQ community, action has begun in response to last week’s gay bashing in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh with various organizations and individuals stepping forward and being proactive in a number of ways.
