Another Reason to Support Dan Onorato

The link below is an editorial from the Philly area, and expresses another reason  for Western PA to support Dan Onorato for governor. The bold (added for emphasis) is mine: Notwithstanding, those ward leaders supporting any of the other candidates other than Williams, need to realize what Gov. Ed Rendell has shown: a favorite son in the Governor’s Mansion translates into mucho extra bucks in grants and programing. Every reason I have heard for opposing[Read More…]

Gay-Bashing and a Safe Community

But what are the “take home” messages from what happened in Bloomfield (both the beating and the rally), and how do we see continuing benefits for our diverse community and the city as a whole? So here are my take home messages.

Is “Hypocrite” and “Anti-Gay Crusader” mean the same thing?

There is a slogan you hear in 12 step groups- “you are only as sick as your secrets.” Come out and quit living a double life of lies. Your secrets are killing us, as well as you.

It is like he is saying, “I might be a democrat, but I’ve been on your side against gay marriage.” Wagner is not the only democrat who is not fully supportive of same-sex marriage, but he is the only one who wanted to highlight his connection to the far right so vividly.

PA Republican Candidate Toomey Supports Racist AZ Immigration Law

While some Democrats are trying to get back at Specter for having been a Republican in the past, are we setting up an opportunity for a real and dangerous Republican to take control?

Non-Discrimination, Not Marriage, Should Be Highest Priority for LGBT Voters

John Micek writes about  the PA Family Institute’s voter guide, and of course Tom Corbett has much to say that we all need to be listening to. Here in Pittsburgh, among the gay and lesbian bloggers, the primary point of conversation has been that Joe Hoeffel supports same-sex marriage, but the reality is, we need to be putting a stronger spotlight on the real issues facing LGBT Pennsylvanians if a Republican is elected. Namely, we[Read More…]
