The linked post is a letter to the editor of a SpringfieldIL paper, and demonstrates how, like it or not, the issue of Equality will come down to a battle between the Bible and homosexuality. I really hate to phrase it that way; I think the work homosexuality doesn’t represent the real issue, but that is the way the anti-gay religious are framing it. We may as well accept it and get on with the struggle for Equality.
Jesus often quoted from the Old Testament and he attested to the authority and reliability of the whole Bible. He specifically stated that marriage was between a man and a woman, and homosexuality is condemned in the New Testament.The laws she refers to, such as those in Deuteronomy, were not intended for all times and all people. Many of them were given to specific groups of people, such as the ancient Hebrews. They were never intended for us to live by today. Also, how can the laws of God be morally wrong?
