Schools should be fostering an inclusive environment where all students are allowed to be themselves instead of needlessly making students feel stigmatized for being who they are.
Last month, I wrote about seeing Thurgood at the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and this week, I’ll be seeing Clybourne Park and writing about it too. The homo-haters have been out to get the SPLC due to their monitoring of hate and extremism. But I wonder if this is really a story about the need to stop gun violence with better laws. Floyd Corkins, the man who attempted to enter the Family Research Council’s headquarters in DC and shoot people has been sentenced to 45 years in jail.
State Rep. Brian Sims, D-Phila., persuaded his Republican colleagues yesterday to approve an amendment that would eliminate a provision in a proposed tax law that discriminated against LGBT Pennsylvanians.
A proposal submitted by councilman Jim Kenney would mandate gender-neutral bathrooms in addition to men’s and women’s restrooms for any newly constructed or renovated city-owned buildings and require transgender health benefits for city employees. Kenney said: It can be an awkward and embarrassing situation” for anyone who may “feel more like a woman, but can’t use the women’s room. These functions should be fair for everybody. They want to paint their marriage as greater than our marriage. Theirs as real and ours as fake. Why do they need to do this? Because they know they have lost the battle for Marriage, and the only recourse they have now is to try and promote a segregationist type supremacy.
