Delta Foundation Sheds Partyboy Image by Calling for Riot!

Delta Foundation Sheds Partyboy Image by Calling for Riot!

When you call gathering some people together for a rally a RIOT, you dismiss and offend Queer History and the hundreds if not thousands of folks in the past who didn’t have the freedoms and fairness we share today. When you call gathering some people together for a rally a RIOT you disrespect the way the queers in 1969 placed EVERYTHING ON THE LINE to demand change and the most basic fairness.

What does “Closeted” mean?

What does “Closeted” mean?

One aspect of the “sexual orientation” discussion in general, is that it often gets condensed into a binary of gay or straight when sexual orientation is far more fluid running between these two different ends. Kinsey knew this, yet because of how political the issue has become, and how it has been framed by the most vocal advocates of change, this binary seems to have taken hold, and most everyone frames the issue in their head as gay or straight.

Pittsburgh Pride, Delta Foundation, and the Bigger Picture

Pittsburgh Pride, Delta Foundation, and the Bigger Picture

Pride: Pittsburgh will have celebrated, danced, marched, networked, and there was probably some other fun stuff in there too. We are now just another part of the rich tapestry of neighborhoods and people that make up what we call Western PA. Not only is Pittsburgh used to us, but they embrace us and love us and want to show off their pride in us, and pride in the way we are an integral part of the whole.

A Gay Man Sees Other Desert Cities.

A Gay Man Sees Other Desert Cities.

I left the theater and the first thing that came to my mind was that I had to call my father and tell him that I loved him. That was the very farthest thing from what I thought this show would do for me. But there is was. Indeed, I left the show wondering if politics is just a tool we use to distance ourselves and make ourselves safe from vulnerability? Of course politics is more than that, but is that how we use it?

Pittsburgh’s Delta Foundation Discriminates

Pittsburgh’s Delta Foundation Discriminates

A number of folks in Pittsburgh complain that the Delta board is made upon men with their own personal agendas. Events like this only add fuel to that fire. What are their real motives? I don’t know, only the Delta Board knows.

Is Marriage Equality Like Roe v Wade?

Is Marriage Equality Like Roe v Wade?

Not everyone agrees with her, about Roe v Wade, and don’t see a similarity to.these cases now. No matter how the Court decides these two cases, it will raise new and complicated questions. In other words, these cases, and the decisions are not the end of this issue, but in many ways a new beginning. One piece of the journey towards full equality complete and the next piece begun.

What is the role of the US Supreme Court?

What is the role of the US Supreme Court?

Synopsis of the cases and what the Court will be deciding regarding marriage equality. … the reality is that the Court doesn’t grant rights. The court may rule that a law is unconstitutional, and thereby remove the law which was denying people rights. Laws create and limit rights. Courts determine if those laws are constitutional or not, and the US Supreme Court decides if lower courts have made correct or incorrect decision regarding the constitutionality of a law.

Debunking the myths used to demonize Bradley Manning.

Debunking the myths used to demonize Bradley Manning.

Every gay, lesbian, bi, trans and queer person must care because Bradley Manning is you and me. He is a small person who believes things can be better and wrongs can be righted with the truth. He is a person attacking the Patriarchy which is about “power over others” and believing that the ends justify the means no matter who is harmed.
