The Sun Circles The Earth And The World Is Flat
LGBT is the 21st Century’s version of Religion’s view that the world is flat and that the Sun travels around the Earth.

The Good As You blog, is one of my favorite reads, and Jeremy is a wonderful blogger. I agree in general with his post that is summarized in this line (emphasis mine): If gay rights opponents have the nerve to turn our shared governing documents into weaponry and to so crudely deny a rich and vibrant population sect of deserved fairness, then they at least need to have enough fortitude to own their truths. “Let[Read More…]
Received this via email today from Keystone Progress: Keystone Progress is pleased to announce the release of the 2011 Primary Edition of the Pennsylvania Progressive Voters Guide. The Voters Guide is a compilation of the endorsements and recommendations of progressive organizations across the state. We have included 16 groups, who have made endorsements statewide and in 12 counties. Please note that Keystone Progress does not endorse. This Voters Guide is only a report of the[Read More…]
Today is Blog for Equality Day, a blog swarm sponsored by Pittsburgh Lesbian Correspondents. Her post for the day, has important links, so check it out. A number of Pittsburgh bloggers are participating, each with their own perspective on the issue of LGBT Equality. For my part, I want to focus on two points: 1) The PA Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment PA is one of a handful off states looking to enact an anti-gay marriage amendment.[Read More…]
Back around the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT), I wrote a post thatI got a fair amount of flack about because it was understood as being negative towards the Democratic Party. That may have been a partially true analysis, however the real point I wanted to make was that partisan politics surrounding especially LGBT issues is shifting to the point where it may not be accurate to talk about it as if Dems[Read More…]
The linked article is about Britain and their conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron, but the base notion here is the same in the US. Many [conservatives] don’t really care if gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trans persons exist, as long as they are hidden away and no one has to know they exist. It isn’t our existence that causes the uproar against the queers, it is our visibility and our desire for equality. If we were[Read More…]
I have been pretty quiet this primary season about candidates, predominately because I usually write about issues or state-wide issues/candidates, but today I want to share why I’m supporting Patrick Dowd for Pittsburgh City Council. I’ve written about Dowd before- last time he was running for Mayor, and at that time, I expressed that I hoped he would remain our councilman and benefit the City from his role on Council. Today, I can say that[Read More…]
Aside from the issue of how to raise enough money to adequately compete with this far right conservative agenda, another more important issue is raised. Gay groups rarely express how far reaching these efforts are, and focus only on the attack towards LGBT’s.
I’m not really into the “signing” shows like The Voice or American Idol, but this clip is worth posting for an entirely different reason. Tyler Robinson, a gay, mormon, comes out to everyone, including his father on national television. You could say that was a crazy move, or you could call it grandstanding, but I think what it really does is demonstrate how important it was to him (and how important it is to all[Read More…]
The entire article this is taken from is good reading and includes video, but the highlighted section (emphasis mine) highlights the issue pretty well. Sensenbrenner’s argument that “everyone deserves a lawyer” may be noble, but it is also hypocritical. Republicans have recently stripped nearly $16 million from the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), which defends tenants against slum lords, helps women obtain court orders against abusive husbands, protects consumers against exploitative lenders, or to otherwise provides[Read More…]
