Within the hour, the Senate will begin to debate, if they can over-ride a filibuster, the appropriations bill that includes eliminating DADT after 17 years of destruction to the lives of gay and lesbian service members. Republican Tom Corbett has a one point lead over Democrat Dan Onorato, while GOP Senate candidate Pat Toomey is 4 points ahead of Democrat Joe Sestak, according to a Critical Insights Research poll of likely voters conducted Sept. 14-16 for the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader.

If you look around the country at states with Republican governors, you won’t find a lot of states that are in wonderful shape in comparison the Pennsylvania. Most every state, no matter the party of the governor is hurting and struggling
I think this is possibly a major core of the difference between being an activist who is fighting against someone or someone, and an advocate who is working for something, and willing to see a bigger picture.
The fallacious argument, that a person chooses to be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered crumbles when you look at things like this. Why would any young person choose to be so harassed are treated so badly?
