I want to weigh in on a recent Davey Wavey controversy. We have to stop beating up on younger gays just because they don’t get it 100% right. They are a part of the future and they deserve our support rather than our scorn.
I see name calling as a tool of patriarchy and white supremacy. It is an effort to enforce a power-over way of being. Even if it makes us feel good to call others names, we are simply buying into and reinforcing the same power dynamics and that doesn’t change the world.
If we attack homophobes, we are actually attacking their fear, since their fear drives them, and we should all be able to relate to being attacked while afraid.
And since almost none of these groups where adequately inclusive of trans persons and persons of color, they are ill-prepared to move forward on issues important to the whole of the queer community and especially these marginalized groups.
So, why not use #GivingTuesday to put these ideas together for you and give donations to worthy non-profit organizations or other entities? You will actually feel good by giving a gift out of gratitude for what one organization or another is accomplishing.

Consider making Transgender Day of Remembrance an active memorial. Use the day to learn more about Transpersons and the struggles they face. Reach out and take action. Stand with Transgender persons demanding an end to violence and discrimination that they face.
Daesh, or its american counterparts are not really about Religion, even as they claim it as their justification. Their only real motive is power and domination, and if we are going to stop them, we must see this distinction. This is a crucial point.
