The Michael Sam Kiss and Coming Out as a Process.

The Michael Sam Kiss and Coming Out as a Process.

We take some comfort in believing that we hold the ability to control when and to whom we are going to come out. But when something public, like this now famous kiss happens, the tables are turned, and we have lost a little bit of that control and the fears are more evident.

Broadway Bares and remembering “J.”

Broadway Bares and remembering “J.”

I hope we never stop celebrating youth, vitality, the male body, and being gay! I hope however, we couple this celebration of youth and beauty with a reminder to care about and remain connected to all of our community including those entering their senior years.

Tom Goss: Illuminate the Dark

Tom Goss: Illuminate the Dark

the scenarios of the video are evocative and welcome your pondering upon them. A glance outside of a restroom between two individuals is the moment that really grabbed me and shook me awake. For me the video is sad and happy, filled with love and hope and warmth. Enjoy!

Schuette’s gay marriage brief: special rights for some and a snub to the Constitution.

Schuette’s gay marriage brief: special rights for some and a snub to the Constitution.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette uses the recent decision surrounding affirmative action to suggest that a voter approved ban on same-sex marriage should be upheld. He cites: “As Justice Kennedy recently explained, (in the affirmative action case) “[i]t is demeaning to the democratic process to presume that the voters are not capable of deciding an issue of this sensitivity on decent and rational grounds,” Schuette wrote in his appeal of a ruling in March by[Read More…]

Fear mongering and Homosexuality

Fear mongering and Homosexuality

If the State has an interest in maintaining birth rates (and I’m not entirely certain that it does) it can better serve that end by putting all of the focus on improving there economy, raising wages and providing adequate services to help families.

Will Allyson Schwartz turn off her voters with attack ads?

Can I continue to support Allyson Schwartz in the PA Governor race? I’m not sure. I’ve wanted to support her from the very beginning, but her recent attack ads were possibly the last straw for me. Attack ads don’t increase voter turnout nor do they help undecideds pick you as their candidate. If anything the role of attack ads is to erode the possibility that undecideds don’t vote for whomever you are attacking. They  are about[Read More…]
