Social Media was ablaze with first rumors, followed by reports that the heart throb behind Logo’s “Meeting Prince Charming,” was a sex worker in the past. The media coverage, including the gay press has been unfortunately pretty negative and stigmatizing, which is surprising for 2016. You would hope we have come a lot further along than that. I first heard Jeremiah a number of years ago, and I’ve always been blown away by the passion that fills his songs and music. Jeremiah puts his whole self out there on the stage, and that leads to a wonderful experience for any audience member.
Rosenberg names these efforts advocating for queer characters as not being meaningful political activism, and she may be right there. I’d argue that they are valuable cultural activism.
The two ways to threaten progress for LGBTQ Rights is to allow Trump to be elected, or to take votes away from Clinton and diminish the size of her lead, thus impacting the ability to win back the Senate and the House.
